Humanitarian Training
The Consortium for Humanitarian Service and Education is a collaborative program organized by the Center for Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Assistance at Indian River State College, Northwest Missouri State University, the Institute of Peace and Defense Studies (Skopje), and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia. The objective of this international effort is to promote the practical education and training of international disaster relief workers, reconstruction specialists, and humanitarian practitioners.
Specific goals of the Consortium include understanding the origins of humanitarian crises, the development of cross-cultural competencies, and the planning and conduct of humanitarian relief operations in disasters and complex emergencies.
